DESIGN - Aquastore Tanks are designed by Professional Licensed Engineers to meet or exceed several stringent industry standards. The following is a listing of just some of the standards you might expect to see depending upon your application.
AWWA D103-87 AWWA D103-97 IBC-2002 NYS Building Codes
International Building Codes AISC

FM Approval
COLOR - Aquastore Tanks are available in standard cobalt blue or in a variety of additional colors to suit your environment . Shown CCW from upper left are: White, Tan, Cobalt Blue, Sky Blue and Forest Green. Inquire for additional colors.
SPECIFY - There are a variety of design choices with every Aquastore tank. Your application may require a Concrete Floor or a Glass Floor. Additional requirements could mean a Glass Knuckle Roof, an Open Top Tank or an Aluminum Dome is necessary. Inquire with Statewide Aquastore to find out what specifics you may need.
GLASS COATING - The Aquastore tank has significantly lower coating maintenance costs compared to welded or painted bolted steel tanks. ESP's glass formulation is inert and chemically bonds to the steel once the panels are fired at 1600° F. This gives the coating an adherence of roughly 5000 PSI which is over 10 times the bond strength of field applied or baked on paint.
EDGECOAT -
Aquastore tanks manufactured starting in 1997 have panel edges that are mechanically
beveled by
abrasive belt grinders. The edges then are flame sprayed with a corrosion
resistant alloy and are coated just like the flat panels of the tank.
Aquastore tanks manufactured prior to 1997relied on the urethane
sealant fillet for protection and may require touch-up re-coating of the
interior edge of the sidewall panels. There are many criteria that
determine the time interval before this may be necessary, such as, diameter vs.
height, type of operation during winter ice conditions, water characteristics
and initial chlorination and chlorine levels.
Our specially trained crew follows a specific procedure for any re-coating of sheet
edges. Assuming that a tank has been drained and cleaned, an average
re-coat application takes about 2 days with an additional 2-3 days for cure time
before refilling of the tank. The cost to repaint the interior of a welded
steel tank is significantly more than the re-coat of the glass edge panels, if
required, and recoating of edge panels is expected to last longer than the
interior painting cycles of a conventional welded tank. Please contact Statewide
Aquastore, Inc. to discuss your operational practices and we would be more than
pleased to offer some recommendations that may extend the cycle time before a
recoat may be required.
